the organization we know today as Rolex, SA.
He became concentrated intensely on Horology–the study of making timepieces. His initial function was so successful he was in a
position to make 3 watches that passed rigorous accuracy testing. After this kind of initial success, he decided to begin his personal
timepiece company. His English companion Alfred Davis would later marry his more youthful sister, turning the company into a loved ones
affair. Wilsdorf and Davis Ltd was listed as “Rolex” in Switzerland in 1908 and later in London in 1912. The name “Rolex” was chosen
mainly because it was clear, easy to spell, and easy to pronounce in many languages.
